Types of documents
Statement of studies
A statement of studies is an official University document certifying your registration now or in the past at the University of Ottawa.
Statement of degree conferred
A statement of degree conferred is an official document prepared by the University certifying that a student has studied at the University of Ottawa and received a degree.
Official photocopy of a diploma
Students may order an official photocopy of their diploma (bearing the seal of the University) by bringing their original diploma to InfoService (75 Laurier Avenue East).

Official documents are only issued to students in good financial standing at the University of Ottawa. Please note that the student's signature and payment are required to process the request.

Regular mail: no delivery fee
Express delivery:* $20 within Canada, $35 outside of Canada
Express delivery — diploma:* $30 within Canada, $55 outside of Canada

Transcripts, statements of studies, statements of degrees conferred: Two or three business days.
Diplomas: four to six weeks.
Delivery Time
Regular mail: five to seven business days.
Express delivery: two or three business days.
Processing times (in-person orders)
Transcripts, statements of studies, statements of degree conferred: Documents are produced on site. However, wait times may vary throughout the day and are to be expected during certain periods.
Diplomas: Four to six week.
Important information about processing times
- Document orders may take more time at the following peak periods: May, June, September and January.
- The Office of the Registrar is not responsible for documents lost or delivered late by courier or Canada Post.
Who can request official documents?
Only you, the student, can request copies of your official documents. However, you may authorize that your transcripts be sent to a third party by completing a third-party authorization form.
Will I receive a copy of my grade report?
Grade reports are not mailed to students. They are only available online through uoZone (Select Grades, then Grade report).
What types of official transcripts are there?
There are two types:
- Official transcripts issued directly from the Office of the Registrar to a recognized institution or agency
- Transcripts issued directly to the student, which are identical to those above but include the mention “Issued to Student”
What information appears on my transcript?
- Your name
- Your student ID number
- Date of birth (day and month only)
- Basis of admission
- Advanced standing for credits from other institutions (without grades)
- Program and faculty
- All courses listed by title, with grades received
- GPA per session and CGPA
- Credits per course
- Scholarships and awards received
- Degrees awarded
When do my grades become official?
Grades become official once the final grade point average calculation for the session has been made. Dates vary depending on when examinations end. For more information, see Important dates and deadlines.
When does a degree awarded appear on my transcript?
Your degree appears on your transcript the next business day after it is conferred by the Senate.
How can I find out my grades without requesting a transcript?
You can view your grades for the session in InfoWeb, via uoZone (Select Grades, then Grade report).
What do I do if I don’t have my initial InfoWeb password?
